I've dedicated my career to making great work on the web. I focus my time on solving the hardest problems for the organizations that need help the most.
My user-experience work ranges from experiential projects for museums, non-profits, and artists, to enterprise-level collaboration applications for cities, health insurance companies, and hospitals, to designing tools that help researchers discover the genetic causes of disease.
As a designer, my main focus is on how a website or application looks, feels, and operates for the people using it. My role involves evaluating the usefulness and accessibility of existing systems, as well as comparing the effectiveness and experience quality of different user interfaces. My goal is to craft the most successful approach to system design, using the unique needs of the target audience as my template. The end result is a valuable site experience that flows seamlessly and feels both engaging yet familiar to the user.
Every product I work on - from data visualization tools for cities to consumer healthcare applications - is built on a solid system of communication and collaboration. They do more than support individual users. They facilitate the natural emergence of productive groups. Whoever the audience, whether it is made of genomics researchers collaborating on open-source analysis pipelines or parents of children with diabetes looking for second opinions on treatment, I work to make sure that sharing expertise with others and providing support are integral components of the overall experience.
