Robert Lougheed

Explore a legendary painter’s life, work, and process

The legendary western painter Robert Lougheed firmly believed painting should be done in the field. To evoke his vision we created an immersive exploration of the painter’s life, artwork and process through dynamic photo galleries and an interactive biography and timeline.

Information Architecture

The original concept for the Robert Lougheed project had something like twelve different unique page comps. That’s not unusual for such a design-heavy site, but there was no clear method for moving the visitor from point A to point B that did not disrupt the site’s larger theme of presenting Lougheed’s process as existing along a continuum.

Interaction Design

I designed the journeys that people took as they explored Lougheed’s biography and body of work. Wireframing cataloged the various views, identified the common features among them, and storyboards suggested sequences in which movement from one page to another could occur in a smooth, seamless way closely tied with the main narrative.
